FAQs

What’s Christian counseling?

Christian counseling integrates Christian faith and evidence based therapy techniques. We refer to the Bible as the ultimate authority for knowing God and his heart for you. Additionally, we use various therapy models that complement (not counter) biblical truth. When used with a discerning lens, some therapy models can lend to helping clients view, understand, and treat the psychological, biological, and physical aspects affecting mental health. For more info, you can read this blog written by Colorado Christian University.

If I’m not a Christian, can I still be seen?

Yes. Although the majority of our clients identify as Christian, we have experience working with clients who do not incorporate faith or have a different spiritual background. You or your child are able to determine to what degree you or your child would like Christian counseling incorporated within counseling. You can find our statement of faith here. Others from differing backgrounds are welcome.

I’m new to counseling/therapy. How long does it take?

Great question! It depends. We use the first 1-2 sessions for you to share and help our counselor gain a better understanding of you or your child. From there, we determine your goals. Every client and situation is so different that it’s hard to say exactly how long it can take. Additionally, your or your child’s motivation to see progress is important in how soon change occurs.
