BETSY | Master’s Level Student Intern

Hello, I’m Betsy, and I am currently working toward a Master of Social Work.

I am energized and find peace through spending time with family, being outside, reading, and stretching. I spent 20 years in the gymnastics world competing and coaching, so I appreciate watching sports and competitive events! I enjoy listening to and reflecting on the stories that shape us as individuals. I am motivated to work together to find balance in life. For the last 5 years, I have worked in the area of spiritual care as a hospital and hospice chaplain. My areas of experience and interest include grief, loss, health-related concerns, chronic illness, stress management, anxiety, caregiver burnout, and trauma.

My Approach

I value openness, genuineness, and safety in therapy. We all have unique experiences and personalities. I believe we connect through holding respect for each other and sharing in conversation. Using a person-centered and narrative approach, we can explore meaning in difficult situations and practice ways of managing stress or symptoms to maintain balance in life and ease your pain.
